A run in the hills with a friend. Our small running club: The No Pros Run Club. We joked that if your heart rate is below 150bpm after climbing the hill that you're probably not allowed in the club. Thinking of running the Golden Gate Half in Novemeber, but need to get slighly more pro (but still no pro) if I'm going to do that. I like runnning. I especially like running in this beautiful place, and with friends.
My little ritual now is to grab breakfast after the run and to make coffee and breakfast for Aneesash. I got pastries and a sourdough loaf, and then made chilli scramble on toasted sourdough. Aneesah cooked Cacio an egg so that we all had a nice breakfast. She cooks it in coconut oil because it's healthier for dogs, but I find myself wondering what coconut-oil scrambled egg would taste like. Maybe... good?
Later, best evening with best friends. We wanted to celebrate Eid in some way, and the best way is to enjoy a feast with family. Friends are the family that you choose, and it was so nice to celebrate with our chosen family. It's hard to find folks you connect with as an adult, in some place thousands of miles from home, but I guess that we're just lucky. Sat under the stars (and a blanket) afterwards. Perfect.
